Overview

 

Job Summary: Consider joining the Pennex family as a Die Corrector in our Wellsville, PA location. The Die Corrector grinds, files, sands, and polishes surfaces of extrusion die parts to the specified shape and smoothness. The Die Corrector also inspects dies for conformity to prototype parts or drawings by performing the following essential duties.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Lifts and positions die parts on bench.
  • Studies blueprints, die models, and prototype parts, and compares them with die to ascertain contours.
  • Verifies dimensions and radii.
  • Observes pattern where surfaces make contact, and grinds and files high spots until die member conforms to specified contour.
  • Polishes die parts.
  • Assists in training new die setters and die correctors.
  • Inspects smoothness and contour conformity visually and tactually.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Performs activities of workers supervised and other duties as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience

  • Two or more years of related experience and/or training with die cutting and correcting.

Other Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of plane and solid geometry
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Attentive to details and follows through on assigned tasks and commitments
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Regular attendance is required
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States, visa sponsorships are not available

  • The employee is regularly required to stand.
  • The employee is frequently required to walk; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit and use hands.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.

 

Work Environment

  • The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles and extreme heat. 
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Our salary ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
