International Accounting Clerk ( Sachbearbeiter/in Internationale Buchhaltung)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior International Accounting Clerk. This role provides essential support to our accounting and finance operations, with a focus on managing financial records, processing invoices, and ensuring compliance with international trade and VAT regulations. The ideal candidate has a foundational knowledge of accounting, import/export processes, working in MS Dynamics 365, and value-added tax (VAT), and is eager to learn and grow within an international, collaborative, and supportive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Check, approve, and record incoming vendor invoices related to logistics, including customs clearance, transportation, and warehousing costs.
• Work closely with the logistics and supply chain teams to ensure accurate billing and timely payments for services.
• Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies in coordination with vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate data of commercial parties in the system of record.
• Ensure timely payments to vendors and service providers, following internal processes.
• Support VAT return submissions in various EU countries.
• Assist in preparing financial reports and maintaining accurate financial records.
• Communicate effectively with vendors, customers, and internal teams to ensure smooth financial transactions.

Qualifications:

• Basic training in accounting or a higher degree (e.g., bachelor’s degree) in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 1-2 years of accounting experience, preferably in an international environment with exposure to VAT compliance and import/export.
• Import/Export experience of goods/physical inventory.
• Requires experience with accounting software, specifically Microsoft Dynamics 365
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and VAT compliance is a plus.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
• Must have eligibility to work in Switzerland as sponsorships are not available.
